In order to maintain and promote the values of compassion, trustworthiness, and integrity that serve to define the Good Corporate Citizenship, the CSR Universal Network is proud to have created this community based platform to empower corporate, individuals, civic organizations, schools, and business groups to promote their projects and to share their perspectives and potentially life changing stories.
CSR Universal Network Project Objectives:

With more than 12 years of experience, Tam has handled many different roles from Sales & Marketing Director, Regional Sales Manager and as CEO in various businesses. Huong Dinh joined Coca-Cola Vietnam in 2008 as Customer & Consumer Information Manager. In this capacity, she overhauled the customer service function by setting hotline channels, improved the complaint procedures, and implemented comprehensive training schemes and guidelines for external issues. As a result there was a 80% increase in customer satisfaction during this period and the public image of CCBVL was strongly improved. Since 2012, Huong has worked as Senior Public Affairs and Communications (PAC) Manager of Coca-Cola Vietnam, where she is in charge of all public relations, governmental affairs and sustainability initiatives in the Central and Southern part of the country. She made contributions to all these fields, but sustainable development is where she devotes most of her efforts. As such, Huong led a variety of Corporate Sustainability Initiatives centered around Women Empowerment, Waste Management, clean drinking water and fostering well-being for underprivileged communities. For instance, regarding the pillar of ‘Water’, she led the Tram Chim National Park rejuvenation effort and expanded the Clean Drink Water project for high school students, whereby Coca-Cola donated 65 water treatment systems to schools in central Vietnam. In the field of waste management, Huong supervised many programs that aim to raise awareness amd put forward solutions for plastic waste problem, such as the local event of the International Coastal Cleanup day, a joint educational program with British Council, and a joint comprehensive anti-littering campaign with Thu Duc District. She also spent considerable effort on furthering the well-being of vulnerable women. Under the global 5by20 initiative, she supervises training courses for local women on business, social, health, environment knowledge in the area of an EKOCENTER. She also supervised E-learning training sessions for local businesswomen in Mekong Delta area with VWEC. In total, there has been at least 3300 women who directly benefited from these schemes.

Dear friends,

I greatly welcome Mr. Tran Hoang's initiative to establish CSR Universal organization. In today's times, we need many sincere movements that promote environmental sustainability. Therefore, a community-based platform such as CSR Universal is expected to make significant contribution in empowering people, institutions, government and business sector.

This is also consistent with the concept described in my book, Marketing 3.0: From Products to Customers to the Human Spirit, which was created together with Philip Kotler; the book has already been published in 27 languages. The fundamental idea is that we can no longer conduct business and move forward only to the pursuit of profit. We also need to consider the impact on people and planet. We should not only seek to satisfy consumers but also make people's lives better.

I hope that CSR Universal becomes a much esteemed platform that can invite a number of stakeholders to work together in accordance with the spirit of Marketing 3.0. Starting from creating an initiative to make the world a better place, conducting research on related fields, participating in events supporting the causes, or perhaps simply sharing their experiences and stories which can inspire stakeholders in CSR Universal.
Here's to sincerely hopefully the collective activities of all the stakeholders in the organisation can make a difference and create a better world.

Mr. Toan also used to be Customer Marketing Director of Home care, Personal care… for 9 years working at Unilever. OUR MISSION

Phu My Hung Corp. builds the 17.8 km long, 120m wide, 10-lane Nguyen Van Linh Parkway (six high-speed and four mixed lanes). As for the section through Phu My Hung New City Center, there are 14 lanes. The 18m~36m wide green land in the middle of the Parkway is reserved for metro projects and future expansion plans. This Parkway, which is newly-built across the marsh land of Nha Be County (District 7 now), District 8 and Binh Chanh County, has become the artery to transport goods from HoChiMinh City to the Mekong Delta, and opened a new opportunity to expand HoChiMinh City southwards according to the urban project approved by the Government. It also plays an important catalyst to propel the HoChiMinh City southern urbanization, changes a large number of farmers to become city-dwellers and the marshland into a modern city, boosting the economic development of the entire Southern areas and HoChiMinh City. In the near future, Nguyen Van Linh Parkway will connect District 7 with District 2 through Phu My Bridge, linking Eastern and Western provinces. Nguyen Van Linh Parkway was built in three stages. The first 2-lanes were completed in 1998; the second 4~6 lanes in 2003, and entire 10-lane parkway was fully inaugurated on Dec. 30th, 2007. On this memorable occasion, Phu My Hung Corp. was honorably awarded the first grade Labor Medal by the Vietnamese Government. - Phu My Hung Corp. builds the infrastructure of 150 ha of land for community uses, and hands it over to HoChiMinh City People s’ Committee. - Phu My Hung Corp. develops five modern urban complexes (named site A, B, C, D & E) along Nguyen Van Linh Parkway. This massive project has been considered the first step in the expansion plan of HoChiMinh City towards the East Sea.

CSR – A Worthy Cause

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” – Winston Churchill.

In today contemporary business world, making profit is no longer the ultimatum of a corporate but how it functions and projects itself as a corporate citizen is what matters most.
20 years ago, there was no such thing like CSR in Vietnam, even the slightest hint. Having the privilege of setting the CSR in motion, though quite unconsciously at the time, and subsequently being fortunate to lead the CSR agenda of a major MNC for a span of more than two decades, I have grown profoundly passionate with the cause as it has widely and deeply got set in. Overcoming the various challenges of lacking awareness, appreciation and especially a systematic approach to CSR in the business community at first, I am delighted that many local companies have now stepped up to contribute back to the society – the social unit without which there would be absolutely no reason for their existence.
While being mindful that corporate social responsibility goes beyond voluntarism and philanthropy as there is more to be involved, the continuity of such effort via an integrated approach is an important consideration for businesses as they remain heavily relying on the support and validation of worthiness from the community.
“The emphasis placed by more and more companies on corporate social responsibility symbolizes the recognition that prosperity is best achieved in an inclusive society”, Tony Blair – former UK PM once asserted. Thus, CSR is exactly a two-way street where the perceived benefits fare both ways, mutually and interdependently. No business can be righteously thrived at the expense of the community it is in.
With increased criticality, as a result, CSR has become an integral part of the corporate’s strategy to ensure its sustainable development. It purports us to be a positive force for change in our communities and conscientiously drive sustainability and innovation into the value chain to better off as a whole eventually. To do so, we must be absolutely insightful and sensitive to the multiple issues facing our concerned community, at the same time address them with great care and cognizance.
Sustainability is a journey with no end, and so does CSR. So let’s stay committed on course!

He is a Supervisor of the Asia Marketing Federation Foundation, a Vice-President of the Asian Council for Small Business, an honorary consultant for the CCPIT Commercial Sub-Council, an advisory board member of SBM, ITB and the Times Higher Education, Times of India and Advisor of ICSB Singapore. Den was a Visiting Scholar at the Sloan School of Management, MIT and is a Chartered Marketer (CIMUK), Chartered Accountant (ICAEW), Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA) and a Babson TETA Fellow. He received his PhD (in auditing) from the University of Manchester, England.

Together with Philip Kotler and Hermawan Kartajaya, he co-authored Rethinking Marketing (also with Sandra Liu) ([2003], Think ASEAN! [2007], Think New ASEAN! [2015] and Marketing for Competitiveness (2017). Den was conferred the Distinguished Global Leadership award by the Pan-Pacific Business Association in 2011, the ICSB President’s Award in 2014 and a Fellowship by the Marketing Institute of Malaysia in 2016.

He is an expert in designing and delivering brand experiences — and in what better way than to use stories. Dear Valuable Partners,

A Vietnamese proverb said: “The faster it grows, the sooner it declines” (Bạo phát, bạo tàn). Almost everybody must have agreed with this concept of sustainability. It means you had to look at your future for strategic planning, in order to make use of your available resources. If someone said no, they might not believe in their future, so they couldn’t help falling with short term benefit attractions, which temporarily brought them to a better position, but not direction.
In agriculture, sustainability requires responsible farming as the most crucial criteria of all. Responsibility mindset is critical for any social connection; it reflects the cultural background of a community. Thus, to create a sustainable agriculture, we need to go with holistic solution between Social responsibility and Agricultural practices.
The CSR network creates a ground for those solutions (Health Care, Education, Environment, Sustainable Agriculture...). I hope you’d join it and contribute to its success.
